The Course
The North Stradbroke Island Golf Club is a Par 71, 5300 metres, 9 hole (18 tee) golf course and offers scenic views of Brown Lake, the Brisbane harbour, Moreton Bay and the Glasshouse Mountains.
Straddie’s golf course is surrounded by dense native bush lands about 5-10 minutes from the township of Dunwich. The course is a public golf course offering a wide range of playing times 7 days a week. The course gently undulates beneath the clubhouse and the 1st tee, which both offer up great views. Finding the fairways is imperative here with thick scrub punishing any sprayed tee shot. The layout utilises two unique tee blocks for each hole, therefore providing a full 18 hole challenge (4 par 3’s, 11 par 4’s and 3 par 5’s).

Continuous Improvement
Thanks to the unwavering support of a dedicated group of volunteers, the course continues to improve and has never looked and played so well. Over the last 3-4 years a number of successful course improvement projects have resulted in a more complete cover of grass on the fairways and much truer greens. With waste material from the new local brewery, combined with other organic matter the club have been able to create composting in large quantity, greatly improving the ability to grow out our fairways.
Another major area of improvement is the network of cart tracks which limits both damage to the native bush and the wear and tear on the fairways.
In 2025 the club have been able to engage the services of a part-time greenskeeper. A much needed position that will both lessen the work loads of our volunteers and continue the improvement of course.
